Lead & Trade guide

How Lead & Trade verifies reviews

Why reviews should be tied to real Lead & Trade jobs and why we do not allow invented testimonials.

Edited by Lead & Trade using general UK hiring, quoting and platform privacy guidance. This is practical guidance, not legal advice or a guarantee of workmanship.

Reviews must be connected to real jobs

Lead & Trade reviews are designed to come from homeowners after a real job has moved through the platform. Trades cannot invent reviews or add fake ratings to their own profile.

Public review counts should only reflect approved reviews that are eligible to be shown.

Moderation protects both sides

Reviews may be held for moderation, rejected, disputed or approved depending on the evidence and policy rules.

A new profile without reviews is not treated as a poor profile. It simply means verified Lead & Trade reviews have not been completed yet.

Why this matters

Fake reviews can mislead homeowners and unfairly harm honest trades. We would rather show a clear empty state than pretend a new marketplace has proof it does not yet have.

Practical checklist

  • Write down the job scope, access notes, timing and budget range before asking for quotes.
  • Keep your messages, photos, quote changes and payment notes in one place.
  • Ask for written details where the work involves safety, certification, specialist materials or staged payments.
  • Use Lead & Trade privacy-safe job posting so your full contact details are not public.
